Fredschuit Bandcamp is my favorite app. Without Bandcamp I would missed out on a lot of great music like Empathy Test! A wonderful album. Occasionally bombastic with nice synths and the voice of Isaac Howlett on top. Well done guys💪🏽 Favorite track: Incubation Song (Album Version).

DJ_LP_ViBE "Fear Of Disappearing" for me lives at the intersection of real depression and an existential crisis. Yet it is sung with such warmth of a friend trying to talk his friend down from a digital ledge. I saw this song performed live at Dark Force Fest, having never heard the song before, it's meaning really spoke to me as a song of yearning and a song of it's time but yet timeless all the same. Favorite track: Fear of Disappearing.
Anathe Mal

Anathe Mal Emotive synths, articulate lyrics, and well composed the way my deeply flawed relationships aren't. Favorite track: A River Loves a Stone.

Monsters 04:48
When all's been said and done And another day's begun. When the lines go on and on And all you've got is gone. You've doused yourself in sin And the daylight's creeping in. When the shadows start to grow - oh! Maybe it's time to go Maybe it's time to go Maybe it's time to go. When all's been said and done No distance left to run. When the emptiness arrives And there's nowhere left to hide. When it's stacking up inside From the corners of your mind. When the teardrops start to flow - oh! Maybe it's time to go Maybe it's time to go Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Again. Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Again. Maybe it's time to go Maybe it's time to go Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Again. Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Baby I've got the monsters Again. They're creeping up Again. They're creeping up Again. They're creeping up Again. They're creeping up Again.

My heart is an empty vessel Drifting out to sea I try my best to be What you want me to be. You can try and help me You could drown me gently You could tell me all of the things that I want you to say And you You could walk away Empty handed. I hear running water Hear you knocking on the door. I spent an hour or more Just lying on the bathroom floor. You can try and help me You could drown me gently You could tell me all of the things that I want you to say And you You could walk away Empty handed The wave that came has broken And the void has swallowed me A door before me stands ajar I thought I'd run but I'm not free.

Doubts 03:54
For all your doubts I will be strong. The more you put me through The more, I will belong to you. And I long to be free from this apathy. I'm sick of playing mind games In your basement flat in Chelsea. So tell me what you want from me And I promise I will be More than you need. At the end of Hollywood Road you fell apart. You could blame the cocaine, You could, blame an empty heart. But I long to be, long to belong. I long to be, long to belong. So tell me what you want from me And I promise I will be More than you need. There is no substitute for love No feeling Tell me when you’ve had enough. There is no substitute for love No feeling Tell me when you’ve had enough. There is no substitute for love No feeling Tell me when you’ve had enough. There is no substitute for love No feeling Tell me when you’ve had enough.

What darkened pathway brought us here? Our primal instincts drove our fear. Released, we were lost in an instant. Love made us blind despite our resistance. Do we go back in time again? See who was wrong and who's to blame? We fell into routine and madness Overly burdened with all of our sadness. Release these strings I feel Let, go this unrelenting wheel of fate. Drowning in these moods So well-defined but I cannot be without, you Making worlds in my head Aching, still chasing Dreams that you made for me. What motion sickness grows inside? Overexposed and still denied. Reprieve made us colder and distant Lost in our thoughts despite your insistence. Do we go back in time again? See who was wrong and who's to blame? We fell into routine and madness Overly burdened with all of our sadness. Release these strings I feel Let go this unrelenting wheel of fate. Drowning in these moods So well defined but I cannot be without, you Making worlds in my head Aching, still chasing Dreams that you made for me. I cannot be without, you Making worlds in my head Aching, still chasing Dreams that you made for me.

Stop 04:14
Everything, everything all at the same time. Anything, anything to escape my mind. And I can't go to sleep at night Until I see the morning light. There's no one in your arms again And still we all have to pretend We're fine. Everything, everything's burning on the inside. Anything, anything to numb the pain you hide. And I can't seem to calm my nerves Moods don't swing they only swerve. Now I'm a nervous wreck again And still we all have to pretend We're fine. When all of my darkest thoughts Roam through my head And I'm lying for hours awake in my bed. If you only knew what you're doing to me Would you stop? Or would you just carry on? Everything, everything's twisted up and broken. Anything, anything - tell me you were joking. And I can't seem to look away I die a thousand times a day.  Let's analyse it all again Until we're ready to pretend  We're fine. When all of my darkest thoughts Roam through my head And I'm lying for hours awake in my bed. If you only knew what you're doing to me Would you stop? Or would you just carry on? When all of my darkest thoughts Roam through my head And I'm lying for hours awake in my bed. If you only knew what you're doing to me Would you stop? Or would you just carry on?

Please don’t tell me, you think it’s too late. I’m not ready, to accept this fate. The seas will rise, to reclaim the land And we’ll realise, we are still so small. Peace be with you, when the lights go out. Hearts are heavy, overcome by doubt. Seas will rise, to reclaim the land And we’ll realise, we are still so small. Ooh, we run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. We run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. Please don’t tell me, we can not prevail. Heaven help me, if we are to fail. Seas will rise, to reclaim the land And we’ll realise, we are still so small. Ooh, we run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. We run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. We run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. We run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. We run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. We run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. We run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers. We run like tears through the flood of Holy rivers.

Stay close to your television tonight Wrap your arms around its cold, dull light. ‘Cause it’s a low, lonely time to be alive. It’s a low, lonely time to be alive. Tell me how many people do you really know? How long will it be before they go? I don’t know... It’s a low, lonely time to be alive. It’s a low, lonely time to be alive. Everything you do will be erased. The moment that you leave, you’ll be replaced And you won’t know. It’s a low, lonely time to be alive. It’s a low, lonely time to be alive. I’ve been waiting for something That never comes. And everything of any worth’s been done. And I’ve been living in here With mediocrity, surrounding me. And I’ve been living in fear of disappearing No one hearing me. It’s a low, lonely time to be alive. It’s a low, lonely time to be alive. It’s a low, lonely time to be alive. It’s a low, lonely time to be alive.

Take me Contain me in your womb Don't give me room to breathe. Suffocate me Reinstate me in you. I am falling apart, I am Falling apart tonight. Just imprison me and Shower me with light. Choke me Envelope me inside I know you see through each disguise. Swallow me I cannot cope with life. You said there's too many people On this earth anyway. And we're not going to get Very, far if we run away. Consume me Consume me with your love. Rejuvenate me Come and take me away. Consume me Consume me with your love. Rejuvenate me Come and take me away. Break me Rebuild me your own way I have been this shape too long. Disintegrate me Invigorate me anew. You said there's too many people On this earth anyway. And we're not going to get Very, far if we run away. Consume me Consume me with your love. Rejuvenate me Come and take me away. Consume me Consume me with your love. Rejuvenate me Come and take me away. Consume me Consume me Consume me Consume me Consume me Consume me Consume me Consume me

Skin 03:43
I'm too afraid to put down in words All the thoughts I've been keeping On the tip of my tongue for too long. And you're too scared of being alone To be by yourself Long enough to feel fine In your own skin. But I see you've moved on A little too fast For me to believe You've left the past behind. I'm just another boy With a bruised ego Who can never let go Of something he didn't know He had at the time. Isn't it always the same? I'm too afraid to put down in words All the thoughts I've been hiding In the back of my mind for so long. You say a year is plenty of time To be by myself Long enough to feel fine. In my own skin. But I see you've moved on A little too fast For me to believe You've left the past behind. I'm just another boy With a bruised ego Who can never let go Of something he didn't know He had at the time. Isn't it always the same? But I see you've moved on A little too fast For me to believe You've left the past behind. I'm just another boy With a bruised ego Who can never let go Of something he didn't know He had at the time. Isn't it always the same?

Love Moves 04:06
I don't want anything from you Just a light, to light my way. And I won't take up too much of your time I'll always need the odd night alone. You can tell me your dreams And I will listen with an open mind. You can guarantee I'll be taking note Please don't leave me behind. Love moves Faster than anything I know Take me wherever you go. Love moves. I don't need anything from you Just to know, you're on my side. And when I'm tired and broken by this life I'll always need a safe place to hide. You can tell me I’m wrong And I won’t even try to change your mind. And you can guarantee I'll be making time Please don't leave me behind. And love moves Faster than anything I know Take me wherever you go. And love moves. And love moves Faster than anything I know Take me wherever you go. And love moves. And love moves Faster than anything I know Take me wherever you go. And love moves. And love moves And love moves And love moves And love moves And love moves

You are, brittle like the wind But I can, see right through your skin. Well you've got such beautiful bones And I love you like a river loves a stone. I am, fickle as I'm thin I shut you out, but you still got in. My worst intentions have all been overthrown And now I love you like a river loves a stone. Oh yeah I love you like a river loves a stone. I love you like a river loves a stone. Oh yeah I love you like a river loves a stone. I love you like a river loves a stone. You are, brittle but you'll bend And I may, break you but you'll mend. Well you paint me with such subtle tones And I love you like a river loves a stone. We are, brilliant though we're flawed I wish you'd be a little self-assured. Your best intentions, have all been overthrown And now I love you - like a river loves a stone. Oh yeah I love you like a river loves a stone. I love you like a river loves a stone. Oh yeah I love you like a river loves a stone. I love you like a river loves a stone. Well I could sit and stare at you for hours Like a bouquet of funeral flowers But every leaf is painted black And every petal is as pale as wax. Oh yeah I love you like a river loves a stone. I love you like a river loves a stone. Oh yeah I love you like a river loves a stone. I love you like a river loves a stone.

about

London (UK) based Empathy Test's third studio album, Monsters, releases 22nd May 2020 and builds on the modern synth pop sound of their previous albums, adding live acoustic drums and synthesisers to the mix to capture the energy of the band's live shows. Founder members Isaac Howlett (vocals / songwriting) and Adam Relf (composition / production) have incorporated the considerable talents of performing members Christina Lopez (drums) and Oliver Marson (synths) for the first time, to create a rawer, more organic sound that will no doubt enthuse their loyal fans, while winning over some new ones too.
